DEATHWATCH GAMING presents
2016 Age of Darkness Campaign
Season 1
v1.4
The Age of Darkness Campaign is a year long campaign that helps build and strengthen the 30k community by rewarding community members for playing, painting, and participating in 30k community events! Campaign Run Time: 2/1/2016 – 12/31/2016
Cost: $5 a month, due on the 5th of every month.
CAMPAIGN CORE
The purpose of the campaign is to build a strong Warhammer 30k Community at Area 51. All of your great feedback from the 2015 Karmona Summer Campaign was actively taken into consideration for the Horus Heresy campaign. There are no gaming time constraints or major deadlines (outside of what you put on yourself)! No schedules! This campaign is a PWYC (Play when you can/Paint when you can) campaign that rewards you for making the efforts and pushing yourself! This campaign is about the journey you take with your Legion or Army!
Campaign Factions
• When playing in the store campaign, your army must commit to either the Loyalist or Traitor banner. Your Banner loyalty may not change during the campaign.
• If your army has “loyal” characters even though you are a Traitor Legion, you may still play with those characters at the discretion of your opponent, including Primarchs, and vice versa. While you may be playing with a “loyal” character, you will still be considered a part of the Traitor faction. If your army has access to both factions, it is completely up to you as to which faction you are placed in. The best way to remedy this is the write a fluff piece for why you are using these models and their rules.
• In addition, if at any point during the year you complete your primary force and wish to start a new army, you may continue to participate in the campaign as long as your force remains under the same banner as your original primary force. I.e. If an Iron Hands player completes his desired Loyalist Iron Hands army and wishes to start a World Eaters army, he may do so as long as his World Eaters are also under the Loyalty banner. Either way, he must continue to fight and participate under the Loyalty banner. Whichever Banner you chose at the beginning of the campaign is the banner you must fight for during the entirety of the campaign.
Note: Just because you are committed to a single faction does not mean you cannot play against people from your same faction! Relax! You can! This is discussed later in the packet.

CAMPAIGN POINTS
Faction Points
• Faction Points are used to determine how well a faction is performing throughout the campaign.
• Waging War against a player from the opposing faction, completing Hobby Progress Challenges, and completing certain Oaths of Moment are the three ways in which a player may earn Faction Points.
• Each Victory against an army from the opposing faction grants 5 Faction Points.
• Each Loss against an army from the opposing faction grants 1 Faction Point.
• Faction Points are used to determine which faction wins the Tides of War each month as well as overall campaign progress.
• Faction points are accumulated and saved each month regardless of whether or not your faction wins or loses the Tides of War during that month.
• Faction Points may be spent during league events to gain an advantage for your faction. i.e. Apocalypse, Campaign Mission Days
o Winning League Events grants a loot crate for your faction with a possibility of earning your faction points back, or possibly even doubling them!
o Faction points may only be spent by Faction Captains and only after an in faction vote has taken place in which to use the points.
Personal Points
• Personal Points are used to determine how well an individual is performing throughout the campaign.
• Waging War against a player from faction, completing Hobby Progress Challenges, and completing all Oaths of Moment are the three ways in which a player may earn Personal Points.
• Personal Points NEVER contribute towards your faction’s points total; they represent your personal accomplishments only throughout the campaign.
• Personal Points may be spent during League Events to gain an advantage for your personal army. i.e. Apocalypse, Campaign Mission Days
• Personal Points are also used for individual end of campaign awards.
• The player with the most Personal Points accumulated during a month wins Player of the Month! Player of the Month will receive a unique and special surprise! Who knows what it will be!
WAR IN THE AGE OF DARKNESS
Participating in the Age of Darkness Campaign is simple. Play, Paint, Contribute. YES! It is THAT simple! Play games of 30k and you are already contributing! Can’t make it up to the store very often? Fear not! By painting your Horus Heresy force, you may contribute to your factions progress!
WAGING WAR
When am I allowed to play? Whenever you can!
Who can I play against? Anyone in the campaign!
Where can I play? We ask that all games be played at Area 51. If you need to play a game elsewhere, please let an Officer know before hand and don’t forget to bring a Game Report sheet with you.
Do I have to log my game? Yes. You may log your game by filling out a game report sheet at Area 51.
How many points do I have to play? All campaign games played in the Age of Darkness campaign must be a minimum of 1500 points. This point’s value is easily achievable through a single Betrayal at Calth box.
What about Zone Mortalis? You may play Zone Mortalis games with a minimum points value of 750pts.
Kill Team? You may play Kill Team games at lower points value, but will only generate 2 points for a win rather than the normal 5.
How many Campaign Points do I earn for winning?
• 5 Faction Points are earned by defeating an opponent from the opposing faction during standard play or Zone Mortalis.
• 5 Personal Points are earned by defeating an opponent from any faction during standard play or Zone Mortalis.
• 1 Personal Point is earned by losing to an opponent of any faction during any game type.
OATHS OF MOMENT
What are Oaths of Moment? Oaths of Moment are like campaign achievements. When an Oath of Moment is achieved, both you and your opponent sign off next to the completed Oath on your Oath of Moment sheet!
New Oaths of Moments are released each month! However, some Oaths of Moment have an expiration date! If they aren’t completed within the given time frame, they may not be achieved!
HOBBY PROGRESS CHALLENGE
The Campaign Hobby Progress Challenge is a new incentive for people to get their armies painted. Painting your army will help your faction! All Hobby progress entries and queries should be handled on the forums. Ian Schlientz will be the Master of the Forge. Please direct all hobby inquiries through PM or through the hobby forums.
HOBBY PLEDGES
Each month, Campaign Players will be eligible to enter as many pledges as they wish into the challenge. Each eligible unit counts as an individual pledge. Each unit has a set value that once completed will be granted in Faction and Personal Points.
A pledge is considered completed once it is fully painted and posted in the Pledge Completion section of the forum.
Pledges are entered under 4 categories
• Unit
o (5-50 models) – 1 Faction & Personal per model.
